Education

Membership in AED provides you with an opportunity to participate in numerous activities that center around efforts to educate you in a rapidly changing field. Our annual conference features development experts addressing key issues in our business that affect our daily activities. We also conduct seminars during the year that target a specific issue of economic development, such as financing options, Legislative agendas, competition, technology, and many more! Membership entitles you to a discounted registration for these functions. Information about seminars can be found in our Calendar of Events section. AED also serves as a co-sponsor with other development groups for regional meetings around Arkansas.

AED understands the importance of education in a rapidly changing field and it supports a variety of educational opportunities. The AED Scholarship Program covers the cost of tuition to any Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC) accredited by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) with preference given to the Mid-South Basic Course, to the Economic Development Institute (EDI) in Oklahoma, and scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified applicants.

Information

From various financing alternatives to successful recruitment strategies, AED's e-mail blasts are your communications links to information about economic development. Membership also means you will be listed with other development professionals and practitioners in our annual membership directory, a quick reference to reach your colleagues in the business.

Legislative Affairs

From city hall to the General Assembly, AED is on top of government decisions that affect Arkansas' economic future. AED brings members together to form an influential and united voice on economic development issues. It is the intent of the Arkansas Economic Developers to endorse and provide active support of those issues and proposals designed to enhance economic growth. Information about current legislative issues and other issues of importance to developers in Arkansas is posted on AED's website as the issues arise.

Networking

Through AED you will meet people who are building Arkansas . . . recruiters, researchers, promoters - public and private paid employees and volunteers. These people are committed and they're making a difference! Consider membership in AED as an investment. We do!
